Relationships Education Y5 and Y6

posted 22 Jun 2017, 09:28 by Simon Bush

Dear Parents

Relationships and Sex Education Week-Monday 26th-Friday 30th June 2017

The school is about to deliver this successful programme to children in Years 5 and 6.

Year 5 and Year 6 children will have a growing up talk with the school nurse team. Year 6 will also take part in a full programme produced by Channel 4 which includes; relationships, changes in puberty and reproduction

All materials are age appropriate and aim to answer the questions children may have as they get older. It is focused on relationships and the changes that children are about to experience in later life.

As a parent it is currently your choice as to whether you would like your child to take part. We find parents are very supportive of the programme but if you feel it is not appropriate for your child, please let us know on the tear off slip below. If you do not fill the slip in, we will assume you want the programme delivered to your child.

We have copies of our Sex Education Policy and full details of our programme below (Sex and Relationships Arrangements) and paper copies are available from the school office. If you have any concerns at all with this programme, do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
