Sports Day 2018 Update!

This year we are continuing the exciting and family-orientated approach to our Sports Day on Friday 29th June 2018 with a few tweaks based on last year’s Sports Day.

Throughout the morning all the children will take part in a range of sporting activities and events in our three zones: The Sports Arena, The Athletics Track and The Fun Zone! The children will be placed in teams representing different countries from the World Cup.  If your child has brothers and sisters in school then they will all be in the same team.  The children will be told which country they will be competing for and will be given a colour.  If possible we would love the children to wear something of that colour (t-shirt,shorts or socks) on the day.   Pupils  will move around the zones competing together and scoring points for their country.

The day will begin with an Opening Ceremony at 10.00am (for safety reasons please arrive no earlier than 9:50am).   Lunchtime will begin at approximately 12.40pm for all children. We understand that this is a long morning for the children, so they will be provided with a piece of fruit to eat before the day begins.

Once all the events are finished and the winning team is announced we will register each class. We would then like to invite you to stay for a family picnic on the field! Once you and your family have finished your food you are welcome to go home. There will also be a range of refreshments available for purchase throughout the day, these include hotdogs at lunchtime, tea, coffee and ice-pops.  For safety reasons these refreshments may only be consumed by school pupils at lunchtime and after school, not during the sporting activities.

Please also note that if the weather is hot (fingers crossed!) the children will need to have a hat and a cold drink of water.  Could you please apply sun cream before they come to school.  If the weather is wet, we will let you know as soon as possible of an alternative date.

We hope everyone has an amazing day! If you have any questions about Sports Day please see Mrs Pullen (Y2) or Mr Spink (Y4).  Thank you for your support. Please can we have the slip below back into school by Friday 22nd June. Thanks.
